Who am I?

Minay Baltazar | Artist + Poet

Minay Baltazar is a storyteller who uses photography to create art that inspires compassion and understanding. Minay developed four distinct photographic projects in the last few years revolving around the theme of the human experience. Her first project was titled Backstory, which was an exploration of the value and frailty of memory. She then went on to create Portraits of our Seoul which documented her time living in South Korea, as well as Spot-The-Difference: Away in Seoul, which focused on the stories of the diverse individuals she met while living abroad. Most recently she created Stay Home. Stay Safe. a photographic depiction of her personal experience during the unforeseen events of the corona-virus pandemic. All these works have been printed in photo books, with the exception of her most recent work released in e-book format. Minay enjoys traveling the world to meet new people who she can connect with, and help give them a platform to tell their stories. She is also a poet, and recent graduate from California State University Channel Islands.
She currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her family and two dogs.
